48 FILIMATTY
FABIO AND MATTIA
We two eccentric and a bit crazy knit designers. With our synergy and emotionally rich ideas, we spread our knowledge in the field of knitting and crochet throughout Italy. We design and create handmade garments and accessories in collaboration with various yarn companies, explore a wide range of needlework techniques, and enjoy challenging ourselves with artistic installations and perforative arts.
LALAZOO ARTELIER
LAURA DELL'ERBA
My art is collaborating with Nature. I create textile objects exclusively with natural fibres. I like working with my hands and with what Nature offers: mine are unique and unrepeatable pieces, because they are the result of seasonal, occasional encounters between fibers and plants. Each piece, thread, fabric, dress, tapestry, is dyed only with natural colors, thanks to techniques such as ecoprint or botanical printing, Shibori, vegetable inks, indigo. I also deal with spinning with the spindle and the wheel and the symbolic meanings linked to these activities, the dyeing plants and the colors obtained from them.
LAVANDALAB
FRANCESCA VENTRONI
Hi everyone, I'm Francesca, the mind, heart and hands behind LavandaLab! I started my story by sneering at the world and now I want to wrap it in wool! My passion weaves threads, wools and fabrics with upcycling, creating unique and colorful pieces, sometimes irresistible...
MAKYLU
Marcella Lucidi
I am Marcella, and with my brand, Makylu, I aim to amaze with machine embroidery creations entirely made by me. I don't settle for wearing anonymous garments; I love making them wondelful by first working on them with my hands and then applying unique embroidery. This way, even old clothes can have a new life. For me, the embroidery machine is merely the executor of an artwork already created by a creative mind. Anything is possible; it just starts with a simple thread to bring forth a beautiful story made of unique details.
NENEEDLE
Nene
Nene (he/they - "lui" in Italian) has always been a creative and art-loving individual. Through various passions such as cinema, comics, tabletop and role-playing games, and cosplay, he learns tailoring and pattern-making, and soon develop a fascination for textile arts: knitting, crocheting, weaving, and modern embroidery. In the latter, he discovers a powerful means of communication, a way to relax and detach from everyday life, and an engaging and connected community. In December 2020, he gives a name to this project, "neneedle," combining "nene" and "needle," as needle in English.
His favorite subjects to depict are connected to the natural world: animals, leaves, fruits, and vegetables, which share values and themes that reflect the core principles of neneedle: environmental awareness, recycling, sustainability; queerness, bodily expression, and free expression of art, the LGBTQ+ community, pride in being oneself; and creativity, art and passion for beauty.
RIOT
Simone Villa
I'm Simone Villa, designer and crafter, behind the Riot brand.
I identify myself as a craftsman not so much for the work I do but, above all, for the way I experience the things that interest me. I find essential to test my intuitions and understand how a process works, to innovate it, making it personal and unique.
Through knitting, sewing, embroidery and textile art, I represent my subversive and nonconformist vision, also trying to stimulate curiosity and fight for inclusiveness
THE CAT IN THE SKEIN
Maria Cristina Casiraghi
Hi, I'm Cri. They are the hands and mind of "the cat in the skein", a brand born from the union of my two great passions, cats and balls of yarn. I discovered amigurumi at a complicated moment in my life; over time, what initially began as a simple therapeutic pastime became a true love. My hands are always at work and my mind is constantly buzzing. I am an amigurumi designer, I design my own patterns and create my subjects with quality materials. I'll wait for you at my courses where I will introduce you to the amigurumi technique. With me by your side, you will be amazed at how magical it is to bring a puppet to life with just two things, a ball of yarn and a crochet hook. ha il menu contestuale
LAZYHAT
Claudia de Dominicis
My name is Claudia and I am a creative! At 30 I left a permanent job to love life more. With my backpack and a #9 crochet hook I traveled to Patagonia, where I discovered a wonderful wool tradition. LazyHat was born there: I created and gave hats to anyone I met along the way.
Upon returning to Italy I began to become interested in the enormous waste of the textile industry. I thus created the Natura Collection (only with natural yarns) and the Atacama Collection (which I recover from textile overproduction).
I always try to modernize this ancient art, taught to me by my mother, creating schemes that make the most of each face. What I learned from crochet is that the more you make mistakes, the more you learn. So, to you who want to trust and be guided by me, I hope you make mistakes, because mistakes are what really allow you to grow and I will be here to support you
